Housing – an essential

Housing is one of the most basic needs – but sometimes can be hard to find and keep. I recently read an article that most Americans are one paycheck away from potentially not being able to pay their rent. There are systems in place to help you in a time of need. If you know of someone struggling, please pass on the information below. Sometimes all it takes is someone to catch a break before things turn around and they are on their feet again.

Bucks County

The focus of the Emergency Prevention and Stabilization program is to help people in Bucks County overcome barriers such as homelessness, eviction, or utility shutoff). An experienced Self-Sufficiency Coach will work with you to assess the emergency, stabilize the situation and develop a plan to prevent future emergencies.

Individuals and families with annual household income at or below 200% of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Federal Poverty Income Guideline ($41,560 for a household of three) may be eligible for one-time assistance to prevent or stabilize an emergency situation.
