The roots to success begins with education. Less than a mile from where I grew up, there is an organization committed to that concept. Our school district is one of the best in the country and in addition to providing residents with high quality education, there is a community program, “The Radnor ABC House,” offering out of town students the opportunity to access our local high school.
A Better Chance is the oldest and only national organization of its kind changing the life trajectory for academically talented youth of color via access to rigorous and prestigious educational opportunities for students in grades 6-12.
Their mission is to substantially increase the number of well-educated young people who are capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society. There are many success stories, since the inception of the Radnor ABC program – they have helped to transform the lives of more than 100 scholars! These academically talented scholars have graduated from Radnor High School and attended a variety of colleges and universities such as Harvard, Columbia, Duke, Georgetown, Williams, Penn, Lehigh, Penn State, Hofstra, New York University and the University of Virginia.
The Radnor ABC House, along with affiliates across the country are preparing for the return of the ABC Scholars – they’re looking for many “Wings” to help lift the students through their four-year high school journey. If able, please click on the link below – your donation will positively improve the lives of our future leaders!
It’s so easy to donate, you can purchase items on Amazon – by clicking here you can see a list of what they need and use ABC House 120 W. Wayne Ave. Wayne, PA 19087 as the shipping address when checking out on Amazon. (Hot Sauce on me!!!) 🙂
